Features and Benefits of Our Specialized Lenses

By Dr. Mary Ann Zastrow, Dated: October 16, 2018

Origins Eye Clinic provides premium prescription eye glasses to our patients that can suit every personal style. We carry specialized lenses including bifocal lenses, sports lenses and lenses with anti-reflective coating. Learn more about them here:

Features and Benefits of Our Specialized Lenses

Sports Lenses

Sports lenses are made from polycarbonate, making them tougher than glass or plastic. It’s safe to wear glasses with sports lenses because they can protect against 90% of sports-related eye injuries. Our protective eyewear also has padded bridges for additional impact-resistance and deep-grooved eyewires to prevent the lenses from falling out.

Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal lenses have two lens powers to help patients see objects at all distances, which is particularly beneficial for those with presbyopia. One part of the lens is used for reading, while the other part is used to focus on distant objects. In addition, we offer multifocal lenses with more than two lens powers, bifocal contact lenses and eyeglasses with progressive lenses.

Lenses With Anti-Reflective Coatings

Traditional lenses reflect the majority of light that hits them, which creates glare. This can cause visual and cosmetic problems. Our lenses with anti-reflective coatings can increase light transmission through the lenses by up to 99.5%, making it easier for you to see. Anti-reflective coatings are also beneficial if you spend a lot of time using the computer or driving at night.

We can assist you with all of your vision needs including assistance with progressive lenses eye strain, conducting comprehensive eye exams and treating common eye problems and diseases. Call us at (612) 869-1333 or fill out our contact form to learn more about us and our services and products. We serve Richfield, MN and nearby areas.
